I agree. He has calmed down, but he won't talk about what to do when we catch them again. I normally tell them that they shouldn't do it and they get timeout

Oh ok, I misread that. I would just take away their bed privileges, like make them sleep on the uncomfortable floor until they can treat their beds with respect. Or let them jump till they hurt themselves and suffer more 'natural' consequences

I've done a 7lb 14 oz baby and a 9lb 10oz baby and they didn't really feel any different, I wouldn't worry too much :)

They could technically still break something, my 2 year old broke his collar bone falling out of a crib with the side off at the lowest mattress setting (about 1.5 feet off the ground). He may just be representing his fear for their well being as anger

yea i understand that- but honestly my kids have bump beds & they have jumped out of them (yes they got into trouble) but they were fine..the age of the child matters & hers are about the same age as mine.. physically they can do a lot that a two yr old can do...
my kids are also crazy w/ their uncles trampoline
my daughter does front flips into the pool off the diving board (last summer she started & was only 3.5) she also has learned how to ride her bicycle without training wheels (at 4) & will not use the brakes but skids to stop(sideways)
they both ride razor scooters (faster than you'd believe)
they love playground equipment (which is 10ft off the ground)
they like making wipeout courses..& they are just all around rough & crazy kids (which is something i knew i was in for because my husband's family is all very over creative & active)\
i guess what i am trying to say is i would not be the slightest concerned about my kids jumping on a twin bed a few feet off the bed- its the least of what they can get hurt on...but my husband is very much for them being themselves & being as extreme as they are...he doesn't believe in putting them in a bubble to protect them from getting hurt (but i had to teach myself that over the years)
but they are very confident & outgoing kids
that being said- i don't let them jump on the bed because its not right (not because they'd get hurt) & they get punished for it.
so idk sorry so long.. maybe my kids are just crazy active & abnormal

Sounds like my kids. They are constantly jumping off things and pretending they are Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. We just put their box spring on the floor and the mattress is on top. Hopefully this helps something. If not, I see a lot of timeout in their future :)
