Exactly. I was raised around guns, I've taken gun safety classes, I've even taken gun safety classes geared at self defense. After this baby is born I'll be taking some more "advanced" classes I guess you could call them, where there are scenes set up similar to real life scenarios you might run into & they also teach what to do if you should run into a problem (like gun jamming, etc.). If I didn't handle guns regularly & practice, take courses, etc. I probably wouldn't own guns for safety, I'd rely on our security cameras. But we choose to practice, plan, etc. so I feel safe in my abilities, as well as my husband's should an event occur.

Good luck to you!!!!! You sound a lot like me.

When I was in the Army, marksmanship was my favorite phase of bootcamp. I had way too much fun.

My next purchase for self defense will be an AT4 Rocket Launcher... Can you imagine the look on the criminals face when they are trying to steal my computer then? HA HA HA HA HA

You better run fast and far!!!! (Im just kidding, I'd never even be able to get my hands on one... but they were a blast to shoot in boot camp, we got to fire 1 round... and HOLY WET PANTIES... thats firepower)

That makes me laugh.......

"Excuse me sir... could you put my TV down, pull up your pants and come sit on our sofa over here. We'd like to have a little chat. Would you like some tea"......

(Those people are lucky they didn't get hurt and crazy.....)

That's awesome you were in the Army! I love it when women have the courage to join military against gender 'norms' & what not. I had too many health problems to join & luckily I didn't or I never would have met DH. DH was also in the Army, which is why I'm totally confident in his abilities with guns and self defense.

I was for 8 years. Army Medic... :) So as a medic you are trained (off the record) to shoot to kill. Because if you shoot somebody, then you have to treat them if they are still alive. So you want to make sure there is no pulse.

Sorry you couldnt join. I loved every minute of it!!!!! What did your hubby do in the military?

My first line of defense is always scattered legos and and random toy shit. Lol.

Really though,we have a gun. It is hid with a trigger lock or whatever you call them on it inside of the top dresser drawer that never gets opened by anyone.

Well, that just makes you irresponsible and apparently too dumb to call someone to let you in.

We have an alarm system. I would never get a gun. When I was in elementary school one of my classmates found his fathers gun that was hidden in a closet on top shelf and accidently shot him self.
