Hopefully there is someone on here who can answer my questions..

I am 5'6 205 lbs. I want to be 140 lbs

My "resting pulse" is around 100bpm. So when I am doing cardio exercises, what should my pulse be an how long should I keep it at that?

Also, is an elliptical more efficient than a treadmill?

Is an hour of cardio per day a good ammount? I did 30 mins yesterday and I could have done a lot more but it was late and I had to get LO to bed.

Will I see fast results with 60mins of cardio every day, or do I need to do more to start seeing results soon?

My resting heartrate is 70 - 90 and my target goal for workouts is 170. For me its an anaerobic level

Whoops and I forgot to add 60 minutes you'll burn more calories then 30. You'll definitely see more of a weightloss working out more.
I do think the elliptical is better then the treadmill only because when I've worked out on a elliptical I burn about 700 calories when I do it for 45 minutes (I'm 290lbs) and an hour on the treadmill at 6mph is only 450 calories burned.

I highly suggest getting a heart rate monitor that tells you how many calories you have burned. I bought one called a Zephyr and it works great for being one of the cheapest models out there.

cardio is good for you, but you should try to throw in weight lifting as well because it keeps your "internal furnace" hotter than cardio does..so you burn more fat... i did cardio a lot when i first started and i lost 5 lbs & couldn't lose anything after.. so i started doing weight lifting, cardio, and pole dancing (which i consider to be both lol) i ended up losing 37lbs in 4-5 months.. :) But you def want to work out atleast a hr

If your gym offers group classes I highly recommend them. Spin/cycle classes are the best for cardio and a good instructor makes it really fun

I asked something very similar, people told me its 20% excersise and 80% diet- so you need to work on your food/diet also to see results. GOOD LUCK
