f**k no. Not at 6.
If I have it my way, she'll be in granny panties until college
Seriously though, I'd be comfortable with it in her teens. I know pantylines are a pain in the ass, especially when boys are starting to notice your butt. My mum was such a f**king prude about that shit, I want to try to be more open with my daughter.

Quoting PurpleBama582:" Do they even make thongs that would fit a 6 year old? "

I tried googling "children's thongs" but I couldn't find anything. And I didn't want to click "images" cos that's just weird. But two different mothers said they got thongs for their children (both age 6), and they were talking about the underwear kind, so I don't know...

ETA: nevermind I found them, they do exist.

THey can wear thongs when they can afford to move out and make their own rules!

Thongs are to get rid of panty lines. Do 6 year olds even know what they are or wear things that are that fitted? Eww... What is this world turning into. Who would make thongs that small...

I remember hearing a couple of years ago about Miley Cyrus's little sister starting a lingerie line for little kids

I don't see thongs as only a sexual thing..I wear them because they're comfortable. I'm so uncomfortable in granny panties.

Still, yeah 6 probably is pushing it, but middle school is when I started wearing them and that's probably when I'd let DD if she asked (as long as they're not hanging out the top of her pants that is) .

Yes, 6 is way too young. WAY TOO YOUNG. I think when you start high school you can start wearing thongs. I snuck and started wearing them at 11, my mom found them and threw them away and grounded me. Looking back, at 11 I was a skinny, undeveloped, little girl. A child. I had no business wearing a thong and probably looked ridiculous in it.
When I went into high school my parents approved them because I was wearing more form fitting clothes and I didn't want panty lines. Dd can start wearing cute, FULL-COVERAGE undies from VS or somewhere like that whenever she is big enough to fit them and she wants to. But thongs are a bit more mature I think, and if you don't take care to make sure you're wearing them properly and wiping properly while wearing them, they can increase risk of infection, and I just really wouldnt trust a younger child to take the proper care while wearing one.

OMG! Kids are starting everything so young anyway.. I plan to tell Bella as long as I buy the underwear she will wear what I choose.. Cartoon themes and all.. When she turns 16 she can get a job and buy her own underwear. No one should be looking at her underwear anyway. Its funny but when she asks if she can have a facebook or wear makeup it just pisses me off to no end I always just say uh HELL NO... but thanks for asking Bella.. lol

In middle or high school I wont care. I wore them in high school for comfort... they arent just for sex or a sex object. I wore them under my JROTC uniform because those pants were uncomfy as hell but with a thong they were bearable.

6 is way too damn young!

My daughters can start wearing them when their about 13-14 yrs old whenever they start hs. I started wearing mine at 13 I think. I bought them with my own money and my mother washed my clothes so she didn't mind.

My youngest is 5, and there is NO WAY I would buy her a thong at this age, or at any age. My oldest daughter is 11, and I wasn't ready when she asked if I would buy her the boy shorts instead of the briefs :( . I cannot imagine what I would do if she asked me to buy her a thong.

I don't see things as a big deal. They are underwear. I don't see why a 6 year old would need them though. The point of them is to conceal panty lines, that's it. I started wearing them in middle school with my dance uniform. Sera can start wearing them around that time also.
