How do I tell her car seat is not safe? Mommy2Kay 1 child; Florida 4211 posts

My friend bought a car booster seat for her 10 month old baby. One that looks like this...

I know she is having a money problems but that baby should absolutely NOT be in a booster seat which is not only forward facing but it doesn't even have any harness. How do I tell her this? I keep seeing pictures of her baby in it and I feel terrible.

I'd just privately message and ask her if she knows her child is to be rear facing still, by law and that he/she is too small for the seat she has purchased. That is not safe! I wouldn't be waiting to say something .

Are the pics actually in a car, or in the house? I ask cause sometimes ppl take pics just randomly and then ppl freak out kwim?

But I would say something, post a link and tag a bunch of ppl in as well as her about car seat safety, thats what I do. lol

They're always in the car going somewhere. When she posted the first pic, I thought it could've been someone else's, a one time thing but since she has post at least 3 pics of the baby in it and they are always going somewhere, I guess that's her new seat.

It's illegal.

She can get a Cosco Scerena for 40.00

Just tell her that is a booster seat, not a car seat. Maybe she doesn't know?? Idk. There are cheaper car seats and programs to help you get a good car seat if you don't have one.

I would have said something fast if she wasn't the type of people that get very offended easily.

Just message her and say

Hey I saw the pic of your beautiful baby girl and unfortunatly that carseat is not safe. I would hate to see something happy to your daughter because she isn't properly restrained.

I would just PM her and politely let her know that her baby needs to be rear facing and in a 5 point harness because it is illegal and you don't want her to get into any trouble or have anything happen to her little one

Toys R Us is having their trade in event where you bring in baby items for 25% off she could get a cheap car seat cheaper that way

I would rather her hate me for saying something, then saying anything and finding out her baby died in a crash crash.....

And if she didnt listen and get a new seat, I would call the police the next time I knew she was out driving, I would find out her plate number and everything (but just knowing her name) and who its registered too, they would find them.

For 40.00 I would even go to Walmart and buy her a new seat

I'd tell her that it not a seat said for a baby, and if she preceded not to listen I'd inform the police. Rather her hate me than her child dying.

This! That sounds perfect, that's a great way to tell her without making her get offended.
