clearance car seat? AwkwardTurtle 34 kids; Syracuse, NY, United States 2085 posts

I was just at target and they had a car seat on clearance, from $189 to $98. Its the chicco key fit 30. I JUST bought this car seat in another color. I had to order mine online since no one carried the color I wanted. I now cant decide if I should return mine (full price) and get the sale one. I wanted the pink and grey one, the one on sale is red so not that different..

They cant sell a damaged seat right? I was confused as to why it was so cheap. It was opened and returned obviously. Are car seat returns looked at before re-shelved?

I would NEVER buy anything that looked like it had been opened, and resealed. I wouldn't want to risk that safety on my precious child. It'd not even be a question in my book.

Sometimes they clearance out Patterns, designs or models that have been replaced or because they have an overstock of that particular seat.

ETA: Didn't see you said it had been opened, no way I'd get one that appeared to have been used in any way.

I don't know how returns on carseats work, but I can honestly say that I would never buy one that was opened already.
