I am almost 31 weeks and i have been asked if i have tried to self induce. What can you do to self induce and when is it safe to start trying to self induce?? And what are your thought about it?

Self induction is stupid risky and selfish

Not to mention that it rarely works.

Just wait until the kid wants to come out. It's not hard

And if you try to self induce at 31 weeks, I hope your kids gets taken from you for being an idiot

Just don't. Nothing will work unless your body and baby are ready anyways. But if you're going to, I wouldn't try anything until I was at least 39 weeks.

This.

Besides, you cannot "naturally induce" labor. Those two words contradict one another. You cannot "naturally" force something to come about. Why is everyone so anxious to try and force their babies out?! I don't get it...

who asked you if you have tried to self-induce? That seems like a fucked up question to someone who has 2 months left in their pregnancy.

Well I guess I should clarify:) sex started it at 40 weeks. The more time in there the better. But baby will come when they please:) sex won't do anything unless babys ready. Mine came on her due date:)

Well it won't work unless ur body n baby are ready so technically u could try like sex, walking, epo, etc. if it was me and I wanted to try to self induce I'd wait til after my edd. I hope ur not thinking of trying this early. Baby really should bake as long as it takes unless there's a serious health risk involved.

OP I had to be induced at 38 weeks and as much as I was tired of being pregnant, I fought the with Ob to try to keep him in there as long as possible. Unfortunately he had to come out and he was healthy, but 31 weeks is a mistake to even think about that. you're baby isn't even considered term yet.

don't be selfish. stick it out.

I don't get it either! I went over and the only thing I 'tried' was sex.

it worked for me in my opinion. ive tried it twice and both times worked as i went into full labour within 5 hours (both at 38 weeks) obviously i am not going to say how i did it.. as i was young and seriously stupid.. infact i am ashamed of my actions i would never do it again. as my last child ended up with jandice. i might get shit for this... but i am trying to speak as someone who had achived it... and therefore would not recomend it because its scary and dangerous. and if anything went wrong u would be the only person to blame.. the guilt i felt when my child became ill with jandice was well deserved!
THIS IS SOMETHING I WOULD NEVER DO AGAIN.. they will come when there ready, enjoy every moment of being pregnant x
