It's not hard to get use to. Though when your sensitive with animals, witnessing the first euthanasia will be quite tearful. I miss my fish. I bought a 10 gallon aquarium 2 years ago, and spent about 200 (Altogether) on the stand, the filters, and the decoration.

I bought 4 fish, 2 snails and a frog for it. 2 of the fish were (I think they were called neon fish). Anyways, one was pink, the other was green. Then the other 2 fish, were gold with black fins. One of the black and gold fish died within a month, and the other one ended up having babies. She only had 2 babies, and then died about a month after they were born. Both of the babies survived and grew though. (I didn't have the stuff to separate them, so they stayed in the tank with the other fish).

Anyways, when we moved from AZ to NM, I gave my aquarium critters away to a friend of mine who has a small pond and stream set up in his back yard.

I still have my aquarium, I just haven't bought any fish for it since we moved out here. I really want to set it up though! I love aquariums!

Speaking of dog shaming. When I unleashed him to bring him back inside he bolted back down the stairs and decided to run the neighborhood as I freaked out. Thank goodness he didn't go too far as I ran inside to grab a treat to bribe him to come back to me. As soon as he saw the treat he ran back over to me and sat. Whew. :?

Quoting Charlee ♥ Jensen:" Lmao! I had a cat that left mice in front of our door, we learned VERY quickly to look before we stepped :P And my step-dad's cat would drop mouse HEADS down the heating vent lmao"

Oh my goodness!

Our cat adopted us when he was about 2. He was a stray that my oldest sister decided to feed one night. We actually had no intention of adopting him, or anything. It became official when we were in the process of moving from Laughlin, Nevada to Golden Valley, Arizona. (It's about 30 - 45 minutes to get there, so it wasn't a dramatic move).

Anyways, the cat (his name was Kitty). He jumped into the back of the moving truck about the time we finished packing it. So we let him go with us. As I said, he adopted us!

He spent a lot of time outside though. We lived in a trailer that was raised from the ground. Anyways, when my oldest niece was about 2... Maybe 3 years old, she was outside with my dad. She comes running into the house all excited and says, "Grandma, kitty got me a rabbit and took it under the house." She was so freaking excited my mom had no idea how to respond to her.

It was a Jack Rabbit. That entire night while we were trying to sleep, we kept hearing Kitty chasing this rabbit under our house. The Rabbit put up a heck of a fight though. My cat had a small piece of flesh missing from one of his ears.

It snowed last night and he was jumping in it. I think he just wanted to play, but that's just not safe! He ran around and would stop for 30 seconds to just mark everything he could  He's safe though, snuggled in a blanket on the couch.

Darn dog.

Apparently so. I was horrified. I just bought him an updated dog tag with our new numbers, so in the back of my head I was thankful for that! I guess I will no longer unleash him until I have the front door shut.

We almost didn't get Daxie a dog tag (she is microchipped) but I am glad I did because eventually I am sure she will leave the yard lol

The hardest euthanasia I ever witnessed was when I lived in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It was Christmas Eve, the office was closed with the exception of one final patient. So the Vet technicians and receptionists were gone. The only people in the office was 1 doctor, and those of us who worked in the boarding facility. I think the owner of the dog was a personal friend of the doctor. (It's the only reason to me that makes sense as to why they would be there after the office was closed).

Anyways, we were finishing up in kennels, and doc comes in there, and asks me to assist her with something. She felt because I was older than my coworkers, and have assisted before that I would be able to handle it best. So she asks me if I can help assist her with a Euthanasia. My first response was, "On Christmas Eve?" She then explained to me that the dog had terrible cancer and would suffer through the Holiday and probably wouldn't survive past the following day.

So, I grabbed the stretcher and met her in the exam room. I walked in to see a BEAUTIFUL 15 year old Golden Retriever, whose family was already in tears saying their goodbyes.

The family said their final goodbyes and watched as we put the dog on the stretcher and carried it away. I stayed in treatment with the dog until the doc dismissed the family. I spoiled him in those last few minutes. Loved on him and gave treats and all kinds of good stuff.

Anyways, I am sitting there with doc, holding the vein so she can get a good stick. She had just barely drawn up the euthanasia (And I am trying so hard to hold back my tears), when my 17 year old coworker looks through the window, comes busting into treatment hysterical saying, "OMG, you can't euthanize a dog on Christmas Eve." Doc tells me, "Sheree, get her out of here."

So I looked at my coworker and by now I have tears running down my cheeks and I said (As I pointed to the door), "Andrea get the fuck out of here." So she in tears walked out. I turned back to the dog, and doc just looks at me and asks me, "Are you ok." All I could say was.. "Lets just get this over with."

It was the hardest euthanasia I had ever partook in.

Broly is chipped, but I'd hope that a nearby neighbor would grab him up, see it and call.
