I am wondering what the specific rules and guidelines are for loosing weight while breastfeeding. My little girl just turned 6 months old and I plan to breastfeed until she is a year old.
I have lost 9 pounds since the beginning of the year by watching my calories and fat consumption and adding on extra fiber to my diet. I want to lose a pound a week until I am 130 (currently 148) and then I want to maintain that weight. I just want to make sure I do it in a way that is healthy for myself and my breastfed baby.
As long as you're eating healthy u should be fine. Don't starve yourself or that can affect your supply.
If your supply is fine, just keep doing what you are doing. You can diet - you just can't cut calories to starvation level & it would be a great idea to make sure you are taking a multivitamin so that you are protecting your own body. Your boobies will take what they need to make milk, even if it takes from what YOU need.
