Quoting Squeaky McGee [26 wks]:" . that would be nice! All I know is my brother and his wife bought a house almost 2 years ago and they didn't get the credit."

Pretty sure a friend last year bought one with a VA loan and got it... but I just googled and it went by income brackets and only certain lenders did it... but seems it's no more. BOOOO. Oh well.

Yes, it is. I'll see if I can find a link. It's a cute little starter house. Nothing fancy, but we like it and it has a HUGE workshop, so DH's tools won't have to hang in my dining room anymore, lol.

There aren't any pictures of the second level, but it's just one big room with tons of closet space that would double as Lola's room and the playroom. I've always wanted a playroom for her!

It's pretty nice. The kitchen needs remodeled, but other than that, it's move-in ready! I love the hardwood floors! It has a partially finished basement, which is a huge perk, because none of the houses we've looked at have decent basements. That's where I'm putting DH and his stuff... in the basement, lol.

They countered our offer, so DH and I have to decide whether or not we want to accept their offer or counter it. I think we're just going to accept, because I want to get this going!

Stef: That house is adorable! I hope it's a smooth ride signing! I'm jealous, I want a basement ever so badly but it'll never ever ever happen down here. I'll be lucky to get an attic. Stupid flood zone.

And holy "cheap"! I wanna move there! haha I was looking at houses under 120k 'cause that'd make our mortgage around $800 (what we pay now for rent) and none of the houses are that nice. >_<

Yeah, cost of living is pretty cheap around here, hence why our rate of pay is low and I make less than every other nurse I know, lol. Our mortgage payment will be less than our rent!

Yup! 1800$ a month which is acutally cheap. We also have our second mortgage for our condo which is 1800$ a month as well. But we are renting it out at like 2300$ a month so were making money on that one :) Hoping to keep it till its paid off and then we will be putting that money in our pocket every month. Cant say id complain about an extra 3 grand every month haha

You may have the benefit of 'free' healthcare in Canada, but your cost of living is expensive!
