Well, in a perfect world we would both just admit to our feelings, put shit in the past and get together and be happy. But its not perfect now is it.

It sounds like you're not really over him...?

Well, perhaps things can heal. That you can talk. That it can work out if you wanted...
There are many outcomes. But it really all matters how you feel about it and how what you allow to be done that will determine the ending...
Don't over think it :)

We were high school sweet hearts. We got married and had a baby. I know everything about him mentally and physically. I will always love him in some way.

Sure, of course you will! But from the wording you used about if it were a perfect world, you'd still be together, it sounds like you're not over the relationship to me. *Shrugs*

I agree. It sounds like you are hoping that with his actions/words he is looking to get back together rather than him perhaps just saying sorry/trying to mend a friendship based life with you.
So, just talk it over with him. Don't hold expectations and possibly get disappointed. If perhaps it's more than him saying sorry, and wanting you. Think it over. Talk it over. If things cannot change, than perhaps you'll realize this is what you needed to truly get over things.
It isn't easy, but it does help.

No, I am not. Well I'm assuming I'm not, if I compare every guy to him and find a flaw with other men just so I can say they aren't right for me. When I fell in love with him, nothing bothered me about him, he was perfect. Do people ever find that again?

Yes. I think that if you're not meant to be, you won't be. But when the one you're meant to be with comes along, your ex won't even hold a candle to him. And you won't have to reason it out... you won't compare him to anyone else because you won't be able to. And it won't be because HE is perfect, but it will be because what you have with him is perfect. Good luck mama, I know it's hard to get over a relationship that serious, especially since you have a child together. Who knows... maybe if you're meant to be together, one day it will all work out.

Yes but honestly, they have to be over the other person before it will happen. No two people are alike so when you want that one person even when you don't have them you usually won't settle.
