I never get flu shots for anyone in my family. The diff between then and now is we have a lot fewer children dying from the diseases that would usually kill a child.

The 1980's polio vaccine caused polio outbreak. I grew up knowing an older woman who it had happened to, but didnt understand until i was told when much older.

We don't vax.

It is insane. And vaccines have become so much more commercially driven since then too. The intentions are what scares me the most. Are these really about helping people or are they just a big money making business? We don't vaccinate for so many reasons but this is one that just creeps me out to no end.

Here you can get a waiver and don't have to vax if it's against your beliefs.

Eta is that not a option in your state?

We don't vax till age 3 then we do 1 vaccine at a time 6 months apart. And we don't do ALL vaccines. My son turned 3 and just got his first vaccine. I had a family member die from polio so that is one important one for us. I also had a family member who was severly injured by vaccines.. to the point where he can't walk or talk and still wears diapers at age 28. So we are very carful with vaccines. I think something originally meant for good got changed to something done for money and what not.

We also have alot more children being injured by vaccines.
A family member of mine was VERY injured by vaccines. My aunt won a lawsuit because of it. It's not safe for everyone. My son is healthier then most kids.. he's 3 and had NO vaccines till December he got his first one. (we don't vax till age 3 then we space them out.. and we only do very FEW vaccines)

And the amount of children that have reactions like that to the vaccines is still fewer than the amount of children that were dying before these vaccines were in place. Seriously one outbreak of any of these could cause an unvaccinated child a life long injury or death. With how many people are choosing not to vaccinate that number will be high if that ever happens.

All those vaccines really scare me. So many of them seem unnessacary. We haven't vax'd yet, but I plan to selectively vax somewhere down the line. In the mean time I just try to keep her away from lots of kids/people and practice good hygenie.
