Ask if they can put the sex in an envelope so you can open it at home and find out the same time he does. They could write it on a picture for you.

Ya know, I thought about that, too. :)

The envelope idea is good, as is the cake one too!

Maybe if he can't go, have them slip it in the envelope and open it at dinner together? That way you find out at the same time.

It would be so tempting not to open it. I'd have to lock it in the trunk.

I understand you wanting him there, but my husband was not at the appointment for either of my kids. we got printouts and videos, and he saw them. it sucks, but it is what it is.

Yeah, but I personally wouldn't want to request time off for an ultrasound at a brand new job. It just doesn't look good. Ultrasounds are nice if you can go, but it isn't like the birth or an emergency or anything. . .

I would love to do something like that, but I lack friends, haha.

Or make it super special!

Get the gender in an envelope.
Lock it in the trunk.

Go out to dinner. Give the envelope to the waiter and tell them to bring a dessert that matches the gender inside. Bigger surprise for the both of you. :)

I know and I understand. It sucks =( That's why the envelope would be cool. You guys would make it something really special to find out at the same time, and he wouldn't jeopardize any standing at his job.

Like a blueberry muffins for a boy, or pink lady fingers.. the restaurant you pick would come up with the idea, but then its a surprise for both of you!
