So my son had an MRI & saw the surgeon today. He said it's highly unlikely it's cancer! He will still get a biopsy next week & as long as the dr's right, surgery. The tumor is aggressive & growing over his growth plate so it'll likely cause some problems until he's done growing BUT I'm still relieved it doesn't appear to be malignant.

Wonderful. I'll still continue to pray it'll not malignant still since you still aren't in the clear until the biopsy comes back.

Thanks again everyone! He had surgery on wednesday. He had most of his femur replaced & a "column bone" added because the ABC destroyed so much of his bone :( BUT, he is doing well. He's in a hip spica cast for 4-6 weeks but I'm sure he'll bounce back quickly!

Yeah, they did a biopsy before the surgery. I freaked out a little because when one of the nurses updated me during it, she was all "He had a few x-rays & should be out soon" so I asked how the biopsy went & she said she couldn't really tell me as she didn't want to "mislead" me. The surgeon didn't talk about x-rays & her response about the biopsy had me terrified! Then they came out and asked what color I wanted the cast so I calmed down because I remembered the dr telling me if the biopsy came back showing cancer he would just stitch up his leg but a cast meant it was the ABC he suspected. But seriously, scariest moment of my life in between those updates!

Well hopefully that's a good sign. I didn't know they could test it so fast.

Did you take any pics of him in the cast? I have never seen one and would love to see how he is holding up

The green above his boxers is the part that goes around his waist. He had to have it split so the bottom is wrapped in ace bandage. He is doing sooo great! He's really adapted quickly to it. Hopefully he'll still start using his little walker soon.
