Like, if your recipe calls for the chicken to be cooked at 375 for 25 minutes, it could come out slightly undercooked.

If I'm baking a cake or other type of sweet I preheat it. Otherwise, meh. Not really. I don't bake anything aside from sweets that need specifically timed cooking. It's more like pop it in. Check it 30 minutes later if it's ready, I take it out.

I just leave it in a little longer. Half the time I don't even look at directions. I throw it in and keep an eye on it until it looks right.

I don't trust myself at all when I'm cooking, I'd rather blame the directions if something goes wrong lol.

I've never even thought about NOT waiting for the oven to fully preheat haha.

depends on what I'm cooking. I never used to.. but found food cooks much better if I do.
anything baked.. works best to preheat. like.. anything with breading, cookies, etc.



but if it's like.. baked chicken wiht a sauce.. no.

I use a meat thermometer. You are supposed to anyway. Ovens hold heat differently. However, you are correct. Food can be slightly undercooked.
