My friend flies with her 2 yr old a lot. She always has snacks that she takes with them and little toys he can play with in his seat like hot wheels. And they do have an iPad with cartoons and games on there that he loves so it is a big life saver

Snacks unopened, yes.

Juice, you will have to buy it at the stores around the gates.

We used to fly w/out first baby every few months until he was 3.

The fast food under 3 toys are a god send! get several and keep them out of sight and in the package until you need them. we called them "in case of tantrum break glass" toys.
we'd hoard them, ask for extra's, anything to get as many as possible before we went.
When E started to get antsy, we'd break one out. It was guaranteed to buy us at least 2 hours of happy kid.

chunky crayons and a note pad are great. Get a small back pack and put some of his favorite small toys and a doodle pad w/ no roll crayons. He'll feel like a big boy toting his secret stash all over the airport, and he'll have things to break out and play with.

yes. We always bought him his own seat. A bit spendy, but if you are on long flights, like we were, it was absolutely necessary for our own sanity. When he became 2, it was mediatory and he had to have a seat that was OK'd by the airline.
