Is your PP bleeding alot different than your regular period? My PP bleeding is disgusting. Its super thick and mucousy, so it barely soaks into the pad and smells gross. (TMI, I know)
Could the thickness be from all the meds they had to give me to make me stop bleeding so heavily in the hospital? (I got 4 Cytotec's rectally, 1 pagof Pitocin, 3 doses of 4 Cytotec pills orally. I bled horribly and it wouldnt quit) I'm 1 week PP today

The smell would concern me.. Its not supposed to smell any different that menstrual bleeding. I had quite a bit of mucous at the beginning but that was only a couple of days. I had a manual placenta removal so I dunno if that's normal lol

Its not really a gross smell that makes me think infection, it just kinda smells "musty" I guess is the best way to describe it. I had a manual placenta removal too. Fun, wasnt it?

my pp bleeding was well mucousy and really thick and sort of pinky orange and like you said barely soaked the pads. it was grose. only lasted 2 and half weeks though.
I weren't on any meds after though. just a few mild pain killers for the c-section pain. x

Oh yes, I just LOVED being taken away from my baby so soon after birth :( But that was better than getting an infection I suppose. I'm pretty sure I passed out through the actual procedure so that was a bonus.
I think musty is normal hun, I wouldn't worry. If it starts smelling offensive I'd get checked out.

This! Mine was mucussy as well, but that only lasted a week tops. What is a manual placenta rwmoval? If you don't mind me asking?

My placenta didn't detach, so the doctor had to go up there and get it lol. I'm pretty sure it's similar to a D&C, they dilate you and scrape everything out, but I was passed out for the procedure so I'm not 100% sure

Lol right? I'm glad I was too out of it to really think it through at the time. I'd been awake for three days and went from waters breaking to delivery ("active" labor) in like six hours. Pushed for over two hours. I just passed out as soon as they gave me the morphine lol.

I'm going through the SAME thing. I had a manual placenta removal with no meds or anything because the epidural wasn't working and I was too scared to get put to sleep.
I'm 8 days PP and today I started having huge clots and a lot of regular flowing blood along with bad cramps, it's like everything got wayyyy worse. I tried calling the doctors office but they're closed because of the huge storm we had last night and I'm really scared that there's a piece of placenta left :/

It still hurts when I exercise too much in the spot where the placenta got stuck :? It was my fault though, I should have quit smoking before I did :(

Oh my gosh, you really haven't had a break have you? :(
You're more woman than I am. The epi had pretty much worn off when they were trying to get it in the delivery suite, and it hurt like hell the whole time. I can't imagine them actually ripping it out while I was still awake.
