She sounds like a douche...

When I had my 1st son I was single, in school again for 2nd degree fulltime during day and worked from 10-3am at night... my mom helped me a ton with watching dean, and I helped her financially...

I never felt bad but I also never told my mom what she could do with her time and money... she would take trips all the time... and I had to find someone to watch him for a lil bit till she was back, she did me a favor by being there when I needed help, I had no right to say I'm paying this and that u shouldn't be able to do something... I was going to be paying money reguardless... wether it be to her or someone else, paying her was a lot cheaper than living on my own like I do now, just 2 of my kids tuition is 8,000. A year... I wish I could just pay my moms 120. Phone bill again  lol

I only read like the first paragraph, but you're making the best of your situation. Ideally we would all own a home and have a career before we hsd children, but this is real life, and as long as you're not dependent on someone else to provide living, food, and care for your child you're doing pretty good. Ignore ignorant people! Even people who "have it all" aren't perfect pe ople, and no one is a perfect parent

My mom has watched my kids almost every single day since they have been born. I finished undergrad and grad school with my mom watching my kids and i work and my mom watches my kids then too. she complains sometimes but it really helps me out and i know i wouldn't be able to work and provide for my kids if she wasn't around.

We live with my in laws because we got forced out of our house due to us renting from one of my relatives that moved out of state and then decided to return on short notice. We pay all of our own bills and help out as much as we can with house bills. I have my I laws watch DS almost every night while I'm at work because SO works nights as well. I will be returning to school in may and I will have them watch him as much as possible as well. Only now is it that DS's great grandma wants to watch him more so we are switching days off. Sometimes I feel bad for leaving him with them all the time because I feel like I should be able to do it on my own but I am so thankful to have them.

I don't think there is a wrong way or a right way to raise a child so long as that child is fed adicuatly(sp), has a roof over their head and their every need is provided.

Nope. It's nice to have help she's mad she has to do it by herself. You're fine. It takes a village to raise your child and it's good to spend time with grandparents

that's how I feel. My grandmother watched me when my mother went to school full time and worked full time as a nurse too. I'm fine, and had an extremely close bond with my grandmother before she passed. I hope LO and my MIL have that too, along with my mother too of course.

Exactly, I don't remember my grandparents at all. I have one and she calls me all the time now but we're not close. I think she feels bad about that. Buuuuuttt its whatever what can you do. I wish it was different. Don't let anyone dictate how you raise your kids. As long as its legal of course LOL

I just got told the same thing the other day because I love with my dad. I don't have to pay rent, but I do help with groceries and buy all of mine & my babies stuff. I NEVER get a babysitter to go out and have 'fun' because I would so much rather be with my baby! (He's 3.5 months) She gets her MIL to babysit OVERNIGHT, EVERY Friday night so she can go to the bar. Her baby is 3 weeks younger than mine. But I'M the bad mom? I understand everyone needs a break, but once a week? no. The longest I've been away from my son is about 4 hours..I went to the movies and came right back home. and once my mom wanted to spend some time with him so she had him about 3 hours. You wanna know what I did those three hours? took a shower, and sat on my bed and watched tv. The I went to get him because I missed him. I couldn't imagine being away from him overnight. ugh anyways. I know this isn't about me lol just saying, you are NOT a bad mom! oh and her boyfriend just moved out of his moms when this girl was 7 months pregnant because she made him. He's 28. hmmmm!

Screw that woman! If she posts on your topic again tell her to make sure she's perfect before she starts to judge. You sound like a hard working mom, trying to make it in life just like everyone else. Shes pissed off about something, maybe she doesnt have a close nit family that is willing to help her out. Maybe she has no family because of her attitude, and you know what she probably deserves it. Karma baby! Rock on mama because there is one thing that will always be true, you werent put on this earth to please anyone!
