So just curious, how many of you did or did not go for the Epi and what were your reasons for doing so or not?

Nope. Both of my kids were born natural with no pain medications.

I did with my first, I didn't with my second. I prefer giving birth without one.

I had them with both kids, but it didn't work for my DDs labor so I felt everything. I did it because Im a cry baby when it comes to pain.

Nope. Two births drug free so far. Lots of reasons. Loss of control, wanting the experience, better for both of us, etc. Less risk.

Of and I wasn't in a hospital anyway.

I had one too. I always made a joke that afterwards its not like they line the Mothers up on stage that didnt get one and give awards.

Now before anyone murders me for saying that- I understand that for many there are specific medical reasons they researched and so on that lead to the choice to forgo the meds....but it still amused me :-)

I had all four of my children without pain meds. Can't say it didn't hurt like hell considering my last three had gotten a shoulder stuck on the way out.

1st kid- Yes. Why? I was a teen and was scared. I got it at 4.5cm and just couldn't bare it anymore and the nurse suggested I should get it because the pain will "only get worse" so I did.

2nd kid- No. No pain meds at all. I spent most of my labor at home in pain crying and decided to go to the ER and discovered I was 5 1/2 cm, had her 2 hours later in a 7/8 min push.

3rd kid- Unplanned c-sec.

I don't have a high pain tolerance so I had one with all 3 of my kids. If have any more kids I will have one with them too.

Basically all of this, except I had hospital deliveries.

I did with both of mine. Couldn't handle the pain for 20+ hours. A lot of people say they want to go natural, but pain is not natural to me lol. they didn't have medications for pulling teeth before and now that there is you wouldn't go to the dentist without meds for the tooth pulling so why forgo meds they have for labor now? Why be in pain when you can choose not to be in pain. Lol but that's just my personal view/opinion

I did not with my 1st. I wasn't allowed one.

I did have one with my 2nd. I thought for sure I'd go natural again, but part way through changed my mind because it hurt, lol. No regrets. I'd likly get another if I had another baby.
