I have a 5:30-8:20 class.
It was supposed to be slightly snowy today and not get down to freezing. Well, it's 30 and the night temp is 27... and it's been snowing so much the ground is covered in snow and the parking lot/road I can see is getting snowy. The roads were already wet and the snow HAD been melting... will it freeze now?

I'm kind of worried about the roads at 8:30 at night. I have to take quite a few back roads. Is a fear for driving safety legitimate reason to stay home? Like, I wouldn't leave my house for free booze at the point :P Just not sure if I should pull on big girl panties or what.

((Usually my 6 week old comes to class with me but if I go I'll be leaving both at home if I can get my mom to come down.))

It's not a legit reason where SO works. They got told they don't want the students to think weather can keep you from going to things like work and such. If the school is open they expect the students to be there. Ultimately it's your drcision to miss or not. I guess decide if u can afford to miss a day and the possible points you could lose.

If it were me, I would go to the class unless THEY canceled it. I don't really have to big of fear though, since I'm from Colorado.

I would go but I'm in a nursing program and missing just one day could f**k me up! What is it? If it's just like a pottery class or something, I wouldn't go, lol..

If it was ME, and I was afraid the roads would get too bad for me to safely drive, I probably wouldn't go..but its because I've only driven in the snow like twice so I don't have a lot of practice and I'd rather miss a day then die...know what I mean? lol

LOL that's how I think - every time I slide a little bit I go "OMG DEATH." lol. It's not fun.

It was a nutrition class, she doesn't take attendance so I wasn't worried about points as much as looking irresponsible and like I don't take school seriously. (I definitely take school very, very seriously.)
