all i got my son was a dog that sings/dances, some valentines candy corn, small box of chocolates and a chocolate heart. no need to go overboard and get toys for this holiday. heck my son would have been perfectly fine with just getting a dollar hotwheel

you could get him a book, maybe some crayons and a coloring book

I didn't get my 3 year old anything. There's no way she would be able to grasp what today means. She can just eat the chocolate DH got me.

For Valentines Day? We don't give kids things for Valentines Day, we see it as a couple only holiday.

Yeah we did the cards at school. At home my mom would share a chocolate with me if that is what my Dad got her but that's about it. Many times one of my older siblings would babysit and my parents would have kid free dinner lol.
