My BD is a asshole.. 2 kids; Anderson, Indiana 323 posts

So it's been a month since i've heard from him, it's seems to me that he doesn't want anything to do with his daughter.. he's been a complete asshole and doesn't care about how i feel, his mother is trying to talk me in staying with him saying that he's worth it.. But so far he isn't showing me he's worth waiting around for and feeling like i am nothing I don't understand what i did wrong.. When i had told BD i was pregnant he cried abortion.. I told him no it's my body.. then he has the nerve to say that he didn't get to have any say in my pregnancy which he shouldn't have to because for one it's my body, my daughter... I am financially stable, and i have great support from my family.. I'm at a loss, i don't understand how someone could just walk out and not care about their child.. It's so frustrating when BD doesn't take in my feelings into consideration.. I feel like he's just thinking about himself when he should be thinking about making a life better for his daughter. I'm so fed up with his bullshit... Okay end of vent. LOL

You can't force someone into wanting something. He expressed how he didn't want to keep the pregnancy from the beginning.

With that said, also know that it's different for a man. As women we become attached from the start, for men, it doesn't become real until they are holding their child for the first time. If he's as young as you are, he is probably scared. Give him some time, try to involve him without pressuring him.

Sorry you are going through this. I can't imagine the emotional strain.

I also told him from the beginning i wasn't going to force him into being a father, and Yes it's very different for us Momma's carrying the baby inside us feeling the baby move inside us. But it doesn't become real for the father until they see/hold the baby. Yes he's the same age as me and that's what i'm thinking he's scared.. But it's hard for me emotionally without him here, i just want the emotional support from him.. But i think it's going to be a while before that even happens.

Unfortunately, you are probably right. I really am sorry you are going through it with out him. You said you have lot's of support from your family right? I would focus on them right now, and give him some time to come around and put his big boy pants on.

That's great! Hopefully he will sort his priorities soon and be there for you and your daughter.
