no parent can watch a child 24 hours a day. Unfortunately.. shit happens. We all hope it doesn't happen to us, our children, or friends.. but shit DOES happen.

no one has to convince you... someone already convinced legislature... which is why we have privacy and consent laws.

reread my posts now, I am against the parents choosing in this situation, you are arguing with the wrong person.

agreed. We do not own our children. They are not our property. They are their own personal capable of deciding many things for themselves. Any good parent would be involves enough with their child to know where they are and be able to have a close enough relationship to where their 10 year old would be coming to them first for help in the case of an unwanted pregnancy. Chances are if an abortion is being done on a 10 year old without the parents knowing, they must be pretty shitty parents not to know where their kid is, or to have a close enough relation that they'd notice their child's emotional distress and call for concern before it even reached that point.

My parents. What does that have to do with anything?

I find it terribly sad. Tragic, really. That someone, still a child themselves, would be making that decision (especially by themselves.) I don't see the laws changing though, if anything, I think our abortion laws will be getting more lenient over the years.

As parents we just have to be doing our jobs. Ask questions, know where our kids are to the best of our ability, and ensure our children they can come to us with everything. It won't guarantee perfect kids, but hopefully the lines of communication will be left open to where we'll be alerted if something is going on.

Oh, I know. I am referring to the parents upset with their child having the opportunity to get abortion legally on their own.
