Quoting Sarah Bare-ah♡:" I'm sure you're far from a newb, something tells me this isnt your first rodeo. And a collection of ... [snip!] ... gone about things in here, not just me so I fail to see how I am the only one disagreeing with your opinions and I'm the bully."

The great thing about a forum like this is that you and I can offer thoughts we each think are helpful. They might be different ideas but as long as we're staying within the forum rules and trying to be helpful, there's no problem. I've never criticized the advice given to the OP by you or anyone else, mostly because you've given good advice and criticism isn't my style. I would never bully you the way you've bullied me and made this into a hostile thread.

You'll never see me critique your advice and maybe you could give me the same courtesy? I don't expect it, but it might help.

I have zero interest in a debate. If you hadn't gone on attack, I would have had exactly one post in this thread. Don't go after someone and then get surprised when they turn defensive.

This isn't serving the OP and is way off topic. Let's just let it go, okay?

When a woman does something because of money or to please a man, she isn't owning those decisions in the way feminism intended. I would be happy to discuss feminist liberation theory... on another thread.

When a woman makes reproductive choices because of money or to please a man, she isn't owning those decisions in the way feminism intended. Feminists like me see that as part and parcel of patriarchal oppression over our sex. I would be happy to discuss feminist liberation theory... on another thread.

You don't have to explain yourself or your decisions to anyone. You make whatever decision you feel is best. You asked about birth control options, and that should have been respected.

It actually lasts up to 12 years! And I love mine, too.
So for the future, OP, you could get the Paragard, and if you like it, you can have 12 years to decide whether or not to get the tubal done. They refused my sister a tubal when she was 25 even after 3 kids. I didn't see how old you are, but some doctors are really adamant about stuff like that when you're young. And it was in Houston also. She couldn't find a doctor to do it.

I'm late to this.
But I had a surgical one. I was very early, 7 wks. 5 days.
They did not sedate me, or even offer it; they didn't even give me pain meds and I was only 14. But they did have to numb my cervix so they could open it. They used a huge syringe. And that was that. There was a lot of cramping and I bled for 3 weeks after.

Good luck.

As for birth control.
I've not had much luck with anything. I had the Paragard and it got stuck in my cervix. :/
Maybe the Implanon?

A pro-lifer who refers the OP to Planned Parenthood instead of her regular physician to get birth control? Uh huh. Clearly you've got me all figured out.

I'm not familiar with the feminist theory that says women should have to have abortions or give birth for financial reasons or to keep a man in their life. That's not the definition of "empowerment" to most people. You're right about responsible choices. But there's a difference when society or another person makes her feel like she has only one choice. Feminists would say that women were facing coercion in that case and therefore being deprived of the ability to make a totally free decision. They would say that the man had the power in that situation.

Happy to discuss further on another thread so it's not OT.

Agreed. Whoever put the OP down should be ashamed. Which thread did this happen in?

It's you. You're not following the rules, and shaming op.

And before you even write out a reply, don't bother. I won't read it because you're to hard headed to understand. I,m not giving in and arguing with you, you should just leave.
