Epidural? BastiansMommy 1 child; Lacey, WA, United States 2431 posts

Okay out of curiosity, I want to know how many people had the same experience as me.
I got my epidural and could still feel my contractions...it honestly felt like I'd taken a tylonel to stop the pain. It made them bearable, but could still feel every single one. I ended up having to have a c-section because I wasn't dilating fast enough and he wasn't dropping...later found out his head was too big for my hips lol Anyway, when they took me into have my c-section and upped the dose of epidural, it still didn't work. I could still feel cold and I could still feel when they were touching my stomach. so I ended up having to be knocked out so that they could get my little Buggy out.

Anyone else have anything like that happen?

I didn't have to have a c-section, but the epidural only worked on one side for me. I basically pushed crooked until it started to wear off a little on the other side. I pushed for just under an hour and was threatened with a c-section. I've had lower back pain ever since.

Yeah, mine made my left leg completely numb and i couldn't use it for like 3 hours after my c-section. It sucked.
But wow...that's crazy. I can honestly say I do not envy you at all. lol

ETA- I also wouldn't have gotten the epidural if the nurse would have checked me again right before. (she checked me 15 minutes before and I was at a 4) And when she checked me right after (I was still sitting up with one leg off the bed, getting taped up, crying saying I felt like I needed to push) he was coming! So they had to shut the epidural off. If it would have stayed on, it may have worked on both sides.

The numbness is mine was pretty much gone about 2-3 hours after, but it tingled for about 4 days, it was awful!

I had an epidural and they had to keep coming in and giving me more of the medicine in it. When they first put it in it was amazing I felt nothing. But when the first one wore off, I was able to feel pretty much everything even with the epidural.

Yeah...I didn't even get the first no pain sensation. The doctor kept yelling at me for bracing myself for contractions and told me that I wasn't feeling them, I was lying and just wanted drugs.
He was kind of a jerk. He yelled at my OB for telling him to put me under and refused to so much that she had him removed from the room and had a different anesthesiologist brought in.

Didn't have csection..but had epidural yesterday worse mistake ever. Only work on one side. Then they gave me shot numb me rest of way, well I ended up pulling a muscle and my pelvic bone popped out place. Talk about pain I feel that if I wouldn't done epidural I that wouldn't happen. Plus I would feel so miserible coming off of it.

My fourth epidural was like that. When I hit 10cm it stopped working. I got it when I was 8-9 cm. it worked for like 20 minutes. I could feel EVERYTHING when I pushed him out this time. I shouldn't have even got one.
