A three year old being obsessed with video games and a mother claiming ADHD, yes, I would assume that everything had not been done to ensure good behavior.

She never one claimed he did have ADHD, yet she didn't express her worry that he might have it.. Considering that her SO has it there is always a chance because the same chemical imbalance can be passed through genes just like Depression or quite a few mental health issues. And even though doctors do not disagnoisis before school age the signs can be clear as day. Btw my daughter first appointment toward her final diagnosis at 7 years old was when she was 3 and at nursery.

Your claiming that these kids need higher forms of dicpline than they are receiving? Fair enough you get harder and harder on them and then one day what happens if you find out they do have this and you punished them over and over for something they cannot control. Because they can't control themselfs.

You have a ADHD child right or know someone with one?

Did you miss the title of this? "Toddler ADHD"

Who said you have to be "harder and harder on them"? Trying different things until they work is how parenting works. You don't just get fed up at 3 and slap a label on them and call it a day. You keep trying different techniques until they start to work.

And yes, I'm pretty sure everyone know about 4 kids with "ADHD" seeing as they over-diagnose these days.

Toddler ADHD.. Did YOU miss the title because it didn't say 'my
Toddler has ADHD" it was a pretty neutral title.

And considering what you just said you most likely have never been one on one with someone with ADHD like the woman who posted this or myself. Your views are pretty negitive to be honest, you have no clue the difference between a badly behaved kid and an ADHD kid. In public I can spot one from the other easy because of my daughter..

You say teach them different until you get it right? These kids don't work, aren't mentally programmed like normal kids and it doesn't work.. And BTW of your suggesting spanking, their memory's and attention span is not long enough to take it is propperly.

You tell me how you stop a child with ADHD running around, jumping on things, climbing, banging into people, generally not staying still or be out spoken because their brains work so far processing social cues is way to hard and it will just slip out anyway, because these are the things that make people this "what a bad child" normally. But unless you have dealt with an ADHD you really know nothing about it.nor how to see it, spot it or deal with it.. Instead your infecting a good parent with negitive thoughts that its her fault.

I'd love to know what would you do if your kid wouldn't sleep, every night they didn't sleep til 2 in the morning and were up at 6? Or won't stop jumping around in the middle of the street. What exactly would you do? Since you seem to have a good knowledge of what to do then I'm all ears.

Yeah, the poor kid, he'll have his mom trying new approaches until they work every day for the rest of his life. The horror.

In other news, at least I don't use innocent children as weapons when I can't control my emotions on the interwebz.

Way to showcase your maturity!

Your daughter had speech issues, too? My son doesn't talk as well as other three year olds but I wasn't aware that it might be a sign of ADHD. He's extremely smart and knows colors, names, numbers, and so on but it's just a little hard to understand him. I can follow him just fine usually but others can't. He talks really fast and sometimes doesn't get a sentence out before starting a new one. I know six other kids born within two months of him and they all speak better. We try to get him to slow down (and talk quieter) but it doesn't last very long.

Got it. Definitely have never ever tried that. Pretty cool how you know everything about all children even if you've never even seen them.
Like I said, you're one of those people who think that because ADHD is over diagnosed it doesn't exist at all. I guess you've never considered that a diagnosis helps parents and pediatricians help the child?

Yeah she used to speak so fast no one could understand, she just finished her last session with her speech therapist this month, so proud of her!

First of all the title is "toddler ADHD?" You've left out the question mark which makes it clear I'm questioning if he has it not labeling him. I met a child with ADHD over the weekend and my son acts nothing like him so that helped ease my mind a little. All I wanted to do was find out the signs and find out if my son showed them. The little boys mother could tell from the time he was my sons age he had it and suspected it way before.

Second I never said that he had ADHD because he loved his games. I was simply using that as a example that he gets so fixated on certain things. Its not just games (which I clearly said I have taken away) I have also taken TV away.

I wouldn't try to justify yourself to her. She just seems like one of those parents who thinks having a child makes her a goddamn expert on everything related to children. Looking at some of her other stuff on here...sheesh.
