Your doctor sounds like a f**king fruit cake.
You do realize your due date can for sure be off by 2 weeks or more, right? There is NO WAY to know that "your baby is going to be fine and NOT need the NICU" once it's born. Your baby can come out with underdeveloped lungs, breathing problems, sucking problems, etc. I would demand them stopping labor until you're past 37 weeks.

And 37 weeks is term. Not 36. Why are you trying to get him (her?) out right now? Sorry but there are people who have had it WAY worse then you have during pregnancy (like me for instance) and they're not trying to get their baby out early. I am being induced next week though, but it's for medical reasons and I'll be 39 weeks.....not 35.

Maybe your doctor should be putting you on bed rest.

i was at hospital today for being sick an decreased fetal movement... ive never been so worried.. took them nearly 2 hours to get some excelerations from him on monitor.. turns out i was dehydrated!! im having mild contractions 5-7 mins apart!! point is im 37 weeks pregnant n i dnt want my son yet!!! at your stage u shd def not want your baby at 35 weeks! his lungs may not be developed enough to stand outside the womb!! id go on bedrest n try not to have him.

Your dr sounds like a idiot.. there are more drugs other than just procardia to keep contractions at bay... & btw, my son was born at 33 wks & was in the nicu for 16 days.. so there is no guarantee that your child will be completely healthy.... i was allowed to deliver my son at 33 weeks only because i was 5 cm dilated & contracting every 3 minutes.. i'd already been on procardia, incocin, magnesium sulfate for 3 days, and terbutiline for almost two months.. all of that to get me to 33 weeks successfully, which is a lot with incompetent cervix & overactive uterus.. I get that you're "done" being pregnant, but 5 weeks isn't bad & as i said, there are more things that can be tried to keep him baking a little longer.. how far dilated you are is no reason.. i was 3cm dilated for 3 weeks.. and was 90% effaced.

I had my early labor stopped at 36.5 weeks. You should ask to have it stopped!!! You shouldn't even have to ask! Your doc sounds like a real winner

Your doctor is a fuckwit, and your just as bad for believing him when he says your baby will be born healthy at 35 weeks. Any sane person knows that is a load of shit.

Your doctor cannot guarantee your baby would be healthy and have no nicu time. Like the other women said he sounds like an idiot ... He really should be preparing you for a nicu stay and what that entails especially if he thinks your baby will be early.
