I wouldn't take him to the hospital for crying. It's probably colic. Call his pedi and make an appointment.

When my son cryed like that it was from bad reflux. We got him an appt ASAP with his pedi [it was same day.] and the pedi put him on Zantac [sp?] and nutramigen formula. He's been doing wonderful ever since then.

My daughter did that a few times and finally it lasted so lonh once we took her to the ER. It was gas. Just really painful. Massage ki LO's belly snd back and kinda try to get any bubbles out in either direction.
