Ear is plugged I♡C&R. 2 kids; Thornton, CO, United States 25259 posts

So we're having a HUGE snow storm. I've STILL got work 2-10:30PM even though that city is on "accident alert" and the highway has pile ups. I'm not going to cancel work because that's the last thing I need is getting fired for not coming in. They're stupid like that.

Okay, so I've got a BAD plugged ear. Do I go to my urgent care with a LONG wait and pay $25 to get in and not go to work or do I go down the road to the Walgreens drug store and get something that might un plug my ear but may not before work? Which is the better option?

Also, do you ladies know WHAT might help un plug my ear? I am miserable and can't hear. I've already tried a peroxide and water rinse...

I wouldn't be experimenting with anything else in there. You can't wait it out until tomorrow?

I work tomorrow and Tuesday as well. By time I get out, clinic will be closed. I can't afford emergency room.

Could be wax buildup. They make ear wax removal drops, they are a life saver!! (DH would agree lol) idr the name of the drops I got for him, but they have them at Wal-Mart and probably at Walgreens.

Can you do a web check in at the clinic? I would go in and pay the $25.

few weeks ago i had a plugged ear for an entire week. it sucked. i tried putting peroxide and water in there but that didnt help, tried plugging my nose and blowing which would pop my ear, but go right back to being how it was. i never had much pain though it was just annoying. i ended up going to the doctor on the 4th day but she said all she was was some backed up fluid and to just wait it out, thats theres not much you can do

No. It's Kaiser. It's Walk-Ins only.

I got the E. R. O. Ear wax removal drops for DH last week bc he had that same problem for weeks. Within two days, his ears were clearing up.

My ear was plugged for over a month. My mom works at a hospital and brought me some instruments to unplug my ear, like a scraper for my ear. SO stuck it in my ear and pulled out a HUGE ball of wax. I could hear again instantly.

I don't recommend everyone just digging in their ear, but if you get desperate enough you'll try anything.

That's how I feel Lol. We can get ear picks from Walgreens. DH is gonna grab one for me and then I'm going to try to use it and see if it works. I have this issue with my ears being plugged often, but I usually just go get them flushed out. This weather sucks though and I'm not waiting HOURS for after hours care when I have work soon.
