He has a stuffy nose!! :-( he's miserable with it. He doesn't act like he feels bad, just can't breathe. I used a bit of nasal spray (one spritz up each nostril) his pedi said its ok. (Btw, ds is 4) he even took it upon himself to take his daddy's ear bulb (one of the ones that come in the ear wax removal kits) to try and clear his nose out... instead of getting tissue to blow his nose. What else can I do to help relieve his stuffiness?? (He's always had this problem since he was itty bitty.)

You could try vicks vapo rub, or maybe a humidifier if you have one handy. Steam helps if you don't have a humidifier, you guys could hang out in the bathroom with a hot shower running to gather steam. They make nasal strips for kids that help keep the airway open, which could help too. If it's swelling congestion rather than mucus congestion in his nose and sinuses you could try an over the counter anti-inflammatory or even a natural one like ginger.

Good luck hun, give the poor little guy a big hug for me. I hope he feels better soon.

Def gonna have to get a humidifier. My parents have his old one somewhere, if they haven't thrown it away. With a new baby comin, def gonna be something we will have to get. And ginger is an anti inflammatory? I didn't know that. (Unless I misunderstand lol) if that's the case, bring it on so I can use it for my teeth!! Lol

It totally is, isn't that cool? When I used to live with a couple of hippy friends they would make me ginger ale from scratch whenever I'd get sick. People swear by it for anti-inflammatory purposes. Making a ginger root compress can apparently help out too. Plus the smell really opens up nasal passages when you have a cold too.
