At what point did I ever say he fell asleep during his circumcision? You keep bringing it up, but I haven't said it once. And he wasn't traumatized. He didn't even know it had happened.

Quoting Lara +2:" My husband had the opposite, they took to much skin off"

I have read in recent years they leave a little extra to avoid the horrid issues that can arise when to much is taken. Some men who have to much removed have intense pain when they get an erection due to to much removed.

ETA- My son had a little extra left and Im glad they left some. I would be horrified if he had issues later on from having to much removed.

:!:

it is her child let her and her DH decide...to me it isnt torture ...there are times when circ's are needed and useful..sure for some its routine..but its the parents choice! at least until that child is 18!

I didn't know about it when I had my first circumcised. My youngest, isn't circ'd, and I came to that decision after I did the research.

But. The OP of this thread has already decided on circ'ing her child and it's not your place to tell her she is torturing him.

To be fair, plenty of men grow up perfectly fine despite having been circumcised.

As long as a mother is making an educated choice, that is what matters.

Educated.

I heard they numb the area... but not put to sleep, they do strap them down... i'm sure so they can do it without the baby moving...

Who's choice? His body his choice. Why is it a parents choice what body parts the baby gets to keep? He has rights too. He is a human being and has a god given right to his own body. The only reason male genital cutting is even still going on in this country is there are still parents who refuse to research and question this cosmetic surgery. When you start questioning you start seeing how traumatic and ruthless this practice is. I can't believe anyone would want to put their child through torture, it's crazy. They are babies, they are fragile and people are proud to force them to endure some of the most excruciating pain imaginable. It makes me sad.

Some numb them. Some don't. When I worked and assisted with circumcisions, hardly any of them were numbed.

MOTHER'S choice

What if my child doesn't want his body poisoned by red meat? Well, he can't articulate that to me, so as his mother it is MY job to educate myself and make choices with my sons' best interest in mind.

If I don't tell her it's torture who will? It is torture, the baby is going to be tortured whether I tell her or not, but maybe she'll do some research and have some maternal instinct to protect her child. People's eyes can open. Hiding the truth is not going to do that baby any justice.

Mothers choice what body parts her son gets to keep?? That is strange. A man should be in charge of his own p***s, not his mother. He should be given the same rights you or I were to a whole body and spared from genital mutilation.

Expressing your opinion in a berating, aggressive, shitty way reminds me if Christians who try to.shove Jesus down people's throats.

It drives more people away than it attracts.

You need to rethink your strategy
