Yes, there are. For some reason, some women aren't aware of them or choose to go against them and leave their babies in dangerous places.

Personally, I don't think I could go through with an abortion, but politically I guess I'm pro choice. I just don't understand what makes the difference like when some people say that it's not okay at x amount of time cause its a baby. It's the same person it was to begin with in my opinion

For me, personally, I'd say that past 8 weeks is too much.

Legally, I don't think it should be legal past 12 weeks, unless there is a strong medical reasoning behind it.

Honestly, If I knew that continuing a pregnancy would kill me... I would abort. I have three children on this earth that need their mother there for them. I wouldn't give up my life, and my children's mother, for a fetus that couldn't survive outside of the womb anyways.

Developmentally a fetus is different at each week so no, medically speaking, it's not a person to begin with.

Not necessarily. I'm pretty sure in NZ abortion is legal up until 13.4. If the baby has defects, or poses a risk to the mothers life, or may die anyway, the mother has the option to abort. I'm pretty sure you're allowed to abort for things like Downs Syndrome, it's frowned upon but I don't think it's technically illegal. Pretty sure we don't have women dying from denied abortions

I don't understand how people can do that. recently there was a case in NZ where a mother abandoned her newborn in someones yard and the owner of the house found the baby dead while hanging out her washing :( I don't know if we have anything in the way of safe haven laws but Im sure there was SOMETHING she could have done.

I would never personally get an abortion at any gestation, but to me if the fetus is at the point where it could survive if it was delivered, than I don't understand how someone could choose to abort. However, I don't want some baby to be delivered and thrown out or killed or what not. So I cannot say I want the laws to be a specific way, I just don't want to hear about it really.

I say 12 weeks. Maybe push it during the 13th week (so like 12 weeks 2 days. ).

I found out the sex at 15 weeks. I can't imagine aborting a child that far along.

But then if its on medical grounds, anytime in the pregnancy, although I think it should be within 2 weeks of finding out the medical reason

But the personality, traits, etc have already been encoded within it. Like some people say it's not okay at x point because it "looks like a baby". That's what I don't understand

Yes, but you're in NZ. I'm sure the attitudes towards it are much different than in Canada, and especially the US.
