The people who were hurt at Saturday's race at the Daytona 500 track are now getting lawyers to sue the company that made the fence. What would you do?

I'm 50/50 on this. I honestly believe that people are lawsuit happy and want to make a buck off of a freak accident.
But on the other hand I think that the fencing company needs to at least offer to pay the injured peoples medical bills simply for the fact of the matter that their safety equipment failed resulting in multiple injuries.

Well, obviously the fence did a shitty job if tires and shit were thrown through it. I haven't seen what actually happened, I have seen some videos but it was too fast to see how the debris and tires ended up ontop of people. If the fence failed, for sure. I'd sue for medical bills.

I am sure people will be suing for millions  I don't agree with that. You don't sue for millions because you got a scratch.

at one of the races some cars got in an accident and pieces of the cars (big pieces such as tires) went flying into the stands and people got hurt.

A bad accident like RIGHT at the finish of the race, it threw debris and tires and shit into the stands injuring people. This is the video I saw the other day

People sue simply because they can. Doesn't mean I agree with it.

I don't think they deserve millions. I do think their medical bills (if they accrued any) should be paid for simply for the fact of the matter that the safety equipment failed.

to me it looks as though the big debris came before the fence starts so I don't know, I would just take it as bad luck and never go again. I am not one to sue sue sue. One time my mother and I went to eat at outback steakhouse and when she sat in the chair it broke (she wasn't fat, she was skinny) and hurt her back, she didn't sue but we did get our meal free just because the manager said so.

Oh no, I was just replying about you saying people are sue happy a lot. No, I completely agree with you though.

Eh, I don't think I would sue. I'd just chalk it up to a freak accident and be thankful I wasn't more seriously hurt.

Agreed. Like the lady who was burned by Mc Donalds coffee because they didn't tell her to be careful/it was hot. Or the overweight girls who sued McDonalds because they got fat :P
Stuff like this makes me ashamed to be an American lol

I would want my medical bills paid for, but I wouldn't sue for a ridiculous amount of money for pain and suffering.
