It's not like the girls are on it 24/7. They have time limits. They pretend play, like right now.

That's not that bad. My 5 yr old has a DS which is like $160. Not that much different. I just wouldn't buy something top of the line for a baby.

Super. I am on your side. See how I'm talking about buying Jack an electronic device to amuse him on long car rides?

This is why kids don't play outside anymore.

I have a 19 month old and there is no way I would buy him an iPad. NO WAY! When I am on mine he will sit and play games with me but I couldn't imagine buying him his own.

My kids (mainly my 7 year old) are aloud to play video games but are on a strict time limit even if it's educational.

Its not FOR him.. I just want him to be able to use it as well.
How come when a parent wants to buy something the family can enjoy its automatically neglecting your child!?
I said in the post that I wanted a mini because I want to take it with me to read my books at work instead of using my iPhone. I work 55-58 hours a week with a decent amount of break time. So he's NOT going to be using it often.
I was thinking it would be great to use at bed times on the weekend when I am home and able to put him to sleep. As something we could do together in bed to settle him down. You know read a book, play a letter game.
Tell me HOW that is wrong?

We bought an iPad for me when LO was about 2 and it was GREAT!
it was the only thing to keep her somewhat occupied at a restauarant. We'd just play Yo Gabba Gabba.
Now she plays fun but very simple, baby-like games on it for AT MOST 45 mins per day.
I swear she learned her shapes super fast becasue of the toddler games.
Now she is doing great with letterss and their sounds using Endless Alphabet (she recently turned 4).

He's way to young for an ipad, hell I think my 5 year old is way to young for an ipad but DH really wanted to get her one.
