I just remembered that I agreed to shoot a "pre-wedding" for a friend of a friend in this coming august. I had forgotten about that

meh. I'm still learning about the industry, and learning HOW to take pictures, and HOW to handle clients

Quoting Kim ♥ 2247517922:" That's where I'm at. I took pictures at my friends' wedding on a Nikon Coolpix P500. A glorified point ... [snip!] ... person... (probably my sister or bestie when they get married) but I will more than likely not venture into event photography."

oh yea, I mean, i think that's really where the money is? Not positive, but I think its one of the highest paying parts of the industry. But I'm not interested in it, either. I rather work in more intimate situations. I would even try a boudoir shoot if a friend asked me to. But I just don't want to be dealing with a ton of strangers, trying to corral people, posing two dozen members of a family

Quoting I♥AnnaBanana:" It is higher paid but if you think about what you really need to shoot event photography, equipment wise, paying extra shooters, the time shooting, editing, etc.... it truly almost evens out. "

ah that's true. I didn't think of that aspect.

freaking out so bad about doing these pre-wedding pictures! I feel like they expect quality and I'm such a novice! I hope I can deliver!

And I'm freaking out so bad that I can't even sleep.

I wouldn't stress. No notice, no pay, no promises. :) I know we all want our work to be awesome all of the time, but without real prep, how are you to really deliver perfection? She can't expect that. I am sure you will do just fine. Just get there early, test your settings in the lighting and do your best.

Haha yup. I have three sessions this weekend alone. Newborn today and newborn tomorrow. And possibly a little five year old in between there if the weather cooperates.
