Custody in Nevada lvcricket 2 kids; Henderson, Nevada 1 posts27th Feb '13
I am looking into filing for sole custody of my youngest child. I have never had to do this before and I am lost. BD is a dead-beat and he does not do anything to help. I received Child Support for about 2 months because they were garnishing his wages. He lost his job a week before Christmas and is now working under the table for scraps and being irresponsible. He fights with me constantly and says inappropriate things to both my children. I would be willing to discuss visitation if it was supervised as he has threatened that he would kidnap our child if I ever filed for custody. I am scared but it needs to be done, boundaries need to be set. I just do not know where to start.

Get a lawyer! We fought our case in Nevada as well. It is a 50/50 state for the most part. You need to document everything! Starting right now. Any threats not calling or coming to visit the kids everything.
