Quoting pitbullprincess:" just as a scar ...its the only way I can really explain the special coloring that has to be done to cover it correctly I cant get the one with tmi but stretch mark cover up to show up tho "

it's okay. Yeah, I get the coloring thing. I think mine are small enough that it won't be too hard. I don't want to just not get a half sleeve because of the dang things plus it would be cool if they were covered :/ I guess I will see what when I get there!

I've tried to do a lot of research on this myself, because I want a tattoo on my side hip but I have old white stretch marks on them from puberty. I would imagine the ones on your arms aren't that severe, but the best thing you can do is go ask an artist (or two) and see. I'd say it depends greatly on the size of the marks, the design, and the artist, as everyone said. Good luck! It sucks having stretch marks in a place you really want a tattoo. I have a design I've wanted for at least 6 years and I cannot imagine it anywhere BUT my hip but it's still a maybe with the marks there.

Have you talked to an artist yet?

No, not yet since I've been pregnant or breastfeeding since April of 2010, lol. I was just about to go schedule an appointment with someone at that time (before we got preggo with #1) regarding a tattoo of my grandmother who passed in Jan 2010, but I didn't get to it before I got pregnant. So.. it's on the list. I plan on getting the tattoo of my grandmother as tattoo priority #1 whenever I'm able again.
