bleeding belly button Jennick.1113 36 kids; New York 7299 posts

My daughter is 15 days old, her umbilical cord fell off 7 days ago and it's still bleeding. It did stop for a few days but now there's dried blood on her onesie and it looks like there's a little fresh blood in her belly button.
Normal or should I call her pedi?

It's normal for it to spot a bit. As ling as it isn't a ton of blood it should be okay.

Do you know how long it's normal for?
It's been a week since it's fallen off, definitely not a lot of blood though.

This is what it currently looks like.

Have you given her a bath? That was usually when my son's spotted. I think it stopped completely after the third week. Maybe the fourth.

She's only had one 'real' bath an that was almost a week ago. I've just been giving her sponge baths since it's so cold. I should probably know all of this but don't remember anything

Thanks :)

You're welcome. You can always call your pedi just for reassurance. But I'm sure she is just fine :-)

Awe, haha...I was thinking that you would probably know the answer.
Yes, it's okay now. It kept that up for a few days and then finally dried up. Thanks :)
