I am having my membranes stripped next week. I'll be 38 weeks and 4 days. Has anyone else had previous success with this and how long did it take for you to go into labor? Thanks!

Sounds like it's a bit early to do that to me. Why are you trying to rush going into labor? The baby needs time to bake fully.

On topic: I've never had it done, but the friends of mine who did all went into labor within a few days and others a few hours of getting it done.

Within 12 hours both times for me.

I was going to be induced at 39 weeks. Doctor is comfortable with it and baby is at a great birth weight.

I went into labor a couple hours after my membranes were stripped..it was slow at first, I wasnt quite sure if I was in labor. But if I can recall I was 4.5 cm dilated and my cervix was super thin, so I'm assuming it just jump started a labor that was already around the corner.
