Has anyone taken it? What were your results, good or bad?
I went to the doctor today and got labs drawn to test for hypothyroidism and polycystic ovarian syndrome and should get results tomorrow. One of the symptoms I have is weight gain so my doctor also suggested phentermine--I have about 20-25 lbs to lose total. Did you have any adverse reactions? He said to monitor my blood pressure closely and has me scheduled to come in once a month for weight and blood pressure check.

I was on it and lost 50 lbs, kept it off for 3 years and now I'm pregnant with my second. It works and REALLY well.

My friends and I call this the "scam pill" because they hand them out like candy in weight loss centers. It sounds like your case is very different so please dont think I am implying that to you. I did try this pill to lose weight. It def. kills your appetite and you have to struggle to eat. So when you force yourself to eat make sure you choose the best most nutritious food for you. Phentermine is a "speedy" medicine so you can feel like your heart is racing and feel very energized or in my case really really anxious. It helps if you drink lots lots lots of water, but you can def. count on that high/speedy feeling. That has a lot to do with why they will monitor your BP when on this drug.

I never had the feeling I was on speed, or "drugs" while on it, nor did I have to force myself to eat. I ate 3 meals a day, just smaller. The worst side effect for me was going number 2, you really need to take a stool softener bc it is almost as bad as an after pregnancy poop.

I have been very consistent with my weight since high school (the last 9-10 years or so)--never fluctuating more than 5 or 10lbs. Over the last 3 months I have put on 20-25 and can't seem to get rid of it. When I was pregnant I gained 25-30 lbs and lost it with no effort in less than a week. I'm not really sure what is going on, but figured this would be worth a shot.

Can any doctor prescribe it?

I'm not sure, probably. My gynecologist prescribed it for me.

It worked awesome for me. I was on it for a little while and lost 72 pounds about 50 of that was on the phentermine the rest I lost on my own. I kept it off till I got pregnant! The doctor had me come in every month to check my bp and all that but I think it works awesome!
