Diva cup question... user banned

So anyone have it? I have one and I am wondering how often you have to empty it. Honestly I have had to empty it a bunch today. Which this has been my first normal period after having my 4th. I am curious how often others dump it too. I swear in high school they always said you don't bleed that much. lol Well for me I always have and I HATE it. Oh and second question do you bring anything with to rinse it when out in public when you to dump (for the heavy flowers like me)?
Thanks

I love mine. Depending on the day of my cycle is how often I empty it. When I am on a heavy day every time I use the restroom a light day every other time to every 3 times. I just rinse mine out with cold water and then put it back in. At the end I put it in a solo cup of peroxide because it gets dingy.

In public I dump it out and then wipe it clean. I try not to empty it in public tho.

OMG girl! YOU HAVE TO GET ONE!!!!!! I use it when I workout and no issues. I used it at night and everything. I LOVE IT. So much easier. It does take some practice. But nothing more than what you do with tampons. Real simple and works really well for travel.

Great. perfect. I was thinking I was a freak of nature. I don't like the idea of public but today I had to and was wondering what I should do if that happened again.

Just as nasty as sitting in a pool of your own blood aka a pad. and just as nasty as taking out/ inserting a tampon

I do too. At least you can clean the cup too and know what your shoving up there. plus I swear when I used pads and tampons you have a smell. I don't notice a smell using the cup. Plus the idea of swimming with a tampon is nasty. But you can swim with a diva cup no problem.

I agree, there is no smell. It is cleaner. I don't have the accidental over flow in my panties or anything I can sleep naked if I wanted to too.

Lol not exactly at least it absorbs it and you toss it in the trash instead of reusing it and dumping the blood eww and rinsing it and put it back in. Sorry but that to me is nasty. To each their own.

I bought the Diva Cup in September after a friend recommended it. I was always a pad girl as tampons just weren't for me. After having two kids and being over 30, I bought the Diva Cup 2 as was recommended. I have to say that it has both pros and cons based on my cycle.

CONS:I find that no matter what I ALWAYS experience leakage during night 2 and sometimes 3 of my period, but I believe it's only because I have a super heavy period. I told my Dr that I filled the cup in 3 hours during day 2 numerous times and have started new birth control to hopefully lighten my period.
I had to completely cut off the nub and it still rubs causing it to be uncomfortable at times as I appear to have a low lying cervix. Although it is not recommended, I now use the cup inside out and don't have the irritation problem. I'm a whatever works girl! I've also had issues with inserting it at times and it can take a few tries, but honestly I think it's only when I'm in a rush because one of the kids is hollering for me.

PROS:With the Diva Cup there is virtually no odour as the air doesn't get at the menstrual flow. It can be worn for up to 12 hours and I even find I have much less cramping during my period. I don't have that sweaty feeling you get when wearing a pad. I find clean up easy and have never had to change it while I'm out in public but my friend said that she has emptied hers in the toilet and wiped with toilet paper before reinserting. It's definitely cleaner, and more cost effective in my opinion.

Honestly I was skeptical and sort of grossed out when I first heard about it but quickly got over it. We really have to learn to be comfortable with our own bodies as well as its functions. It may not be for everyone, but I'm definitely a fan of the Diva Cup...now to remedy that nighttime leaking and it will be perfect :D
