with my first i was in labor at the hospital for over 14 hours. not induced, but they broke my water and gave me pitocin, thats it.
i wasnt allowed to get out of bed because of the pitocin and the monitors so thats probably the reason my labor took so long with her.
what kept me from getting any kind of pain relieve was that with the IV meds i kept telling myself she may be too drowsy to breath on her own if i do it and i couldnt stand that idea.
with the epi...i have always had back problems and i was absolutely terrified of making them worse. especially because i know a lot of moms that have permanent issues due to the epi.

with my second i went into labor on my own again, got to the hospital and was 3-4cm. i just walked around the birthing room in circles and every contraction i stopped, concentrated on breathing and kept picturing that little newborn i was going to hold in my hands soon. kept telling myself every contraction was bringing him one step closer to me and i swayed my hips in circles with every contraction...
had him 1 1/2 hours later. lol

We did it in our apartment lol. I have very small veins that roll, they usually miss mine to the point of me trying not to faint ug.

I've given birth naturally two times.

My first was 8lbs 4oz.I woke up with period like cramps around 6:36am..I waited around till 8ish am to go to the hospital.I believe I was like 5cm when I got there..I started pushing at 10am and had her at 10:31 am.

My second I woke up to a strong period like cramp at 7:30..didn't think much of it.Around 8:30 the cramps became consistent so I started timing them..they where 5-6 minutes apart and lasting a good minute each time.I wanted to get into the shower but I couldn't.. That's when I decided it was time to go in.
I got there at 9:34 and got put in a room and told to wait because the lady in the room next to me was pushing.finally at 10:10 my nurse came in hooked me up to the monitors and checked me I was 8cm.She started my iv and I had to sign about a million papers.i needed oxygen because his heartbeat wasn't what they thought it should be.At 11:20 my mom got there my doctor followed at 11:30 he checked me I was complete so he broke my water.. There was menoconium in it. They pushed me back to the delivery room broke down the bed I pushed a few times and out popped my 9lb 7oz little boy at 11:41am

I believe I got the birth I wanted because I stayed at home as long as I did. Did I wanted a epi by the time I got there? Heck yes but of course it was way to late I did get a IV put in. Which during a contraction I ripped out I am hoping this time I will not have to but other then that completely natural. If your at home with out the option of them giving you a epi you will see how strong you are.

I went all natural with my second and third. I was induced for my first so ended up with an epi - so if you can wait til it starts naturally, it's easier to finish naturally! Pain is bearable, gets worse just before they allow you to push, but feels great when you start pushing! Try not to be laying on your back to push, squatting or on all fours works better and gives quicker results, Good luck!

i havent had any drugs or epi's or anything with either of mine. THe first one was super easy... I didnt even make a peep and the second was a little harder cause i had a tilted uterus and she got kinda stuck adn that hurt but all in all it was bearable. Both labours were under 4 hours. So fast! I did get stitches both times but just a couple and no episiotimy,

I have your same fear! I want to go all natural im scared of tearing and the idea of a c section. The doc told me I might have to be induced...I hope all goes well for you!

My labor wasnt bad at all compared to what I thought it would be since I was very sick my whole pregnancy. I was 4 centimeters and 70% thinned for a week so I set to be induced Jan 24th at 39wks 4 days. Well on the 22nd at 330am I had period cramps nothing bad! I took two baths walked around for about 3 hours and finally went in, got there about 845am I was 9.5 centimeters they gave me my IV I signed my papers and started pushing at 912am she was born at 923am. I tore a little and had two stitches, after I had her I was up and walking. I had my discharge papers at 830am the next day. but if you labor at home as long as you can , just find your focus point, and breath you'll get through it. I will honestly say I'd give birth all over again the same way!!

I was lucky going into labor, getting to the hospital, and pushing all happened within a 5 hour window. Happened so quickly almost had him in a elevator lol.

With my first I had every drug possible lol.

My second was all natural. Got my first contraction at 5:30am, went to hospital around 10am. Water broke at 5pm and had him at 5:30pm. Contractions were fine the whole way through until my water broke. Then about 15mins after it broke I started pushing. The worst was him crowning. Literally thought my vagina was on fire.

My 3rd was all natural as well. Had few mild contractions durin he day. Water broke at 4:30am, got to hospital at 5:15am. Contractions were unbearable this time as we were back to back and the back labour hurt like a mofo! I begged for an epi, but she said I didn't have time. At 8cm I needed to push. She told me to hold it, but there was no way I could and my body took over. 3mins of pushing and he was out in one go at 8:31am.

I laboured for two days before giving birth. Started on wednesday and had buns early friday morning. I was fully effaced and stuck at 4cm so they gave me the drip to induce it further and get a move on (that was early day two)
I had the pitocin towards the end, which helped a bit. And the whole way through I had the gas but when it came to pushing the pitocin had worn off and I wasn't using gas. I don't think that part was as bad actually...
I didn't tear or anything.
You can do it mama! Good luck.

my contractions with my second were happening for 2 weeks.. i went in on dec. 27th at 34 weeks pregnant with contractions, they were steady.. not getting worse but i was having em for over 12 hours.. i thought they were braxton hicks.. at the hospital they told me i was 5 cm dilated and she was coming that night well they started pumping water into my iv and i stopped dilating. i was still having contractions but didnt dilate. so they sent me home. told me not to go far cuz this baby was coming and when it started it would only be a matter of time before she was here. i lived an hour away and after staying close for 3 days i was ready to go home so i did... was having contractions for two weeks. on jan. 10th my contractions started at 330am and i once again waited forever to go to the hospital i got there at about 730 pm after having them consistantly all day. once again thinking they were braxton hicks. cuz they never got worse. she was born at 8:08 pm. they had to break my water and within minutes she was here. i was laughing and talking the whole time. right up until it came time for her head to come out.. that hurt like hell.. :)
