I am just getting into CD with my 17, almost 18 month old daughter. I bought a BumGenuis Freetime AIO, OS and some hemp liners yesterday (she is a heavy wetter so I was told they will help the absorbency).

I have a few questions.

1) I don't have a dipaer sprayer, so how do I get the poop out of her diaper?
2.) Do i have to wash on cold, then wash on hot, then double rinse every time, or only for prep?
3.) Can these diapers go in the dryer or only line dry?

Thanks for looking and hopefully replying! I'm sure I will have more questions along the way!

1) Swish or shake the poop off. It's nasty, but I swished before I got a sprayer. You can get a sprayer on ebay for like $20, it'll be labeled as a bidet. Until then designate a set of cleaning gloves specifically for poopy diapers.

2)How I wash is:
2 cold rinses no soap, 1 hot wash w/ soap, 2 cold rinses.
eta: oops, read wrong. Yes wash that way every time.

3)They say to line dry but I've had all brands of diapers and I only dry mine in the dryer and have never had any issues.

1- plop into toilet or use a spatula

2- every time

3- I use my dryer every time unless its sunny out and I'm working in the yard then I hang dry

Uhhh, normal?
LOL. I've had people ask me that before and I have no ideas.
I'm thinking if I had hard water I'd probably know?

Thanks ladies! :)
Also, I found some super cute CDs on ebay for relatively cheap. Do you think they're too good to be true or worth a shot?

IDK about ebay ones but I use almost exclusively Alva's from Alvababy.com, and I like them better than any big name brand we've used.

Oh, from ebay I have 3 Babylands that I love :D

Hard water has a lot of minerals in it, can make clothes look dingy, toothpaste won't froth as well with it.

Soft can make soap feel like it's stuck to your hands. I have soft.

uhhhh... I have to find it again lol! Had it bookmarked on my old laptop until it crashed. :/

Since I only have one diaper to wash at the moment, is there a way I can do it by hand instead of using the washing machine? It bugs me doing a wash cycle for just one diaper lol. I threw a bunch of my cleaning towels in last night just to add some fullness to the load even though they were already cleaned ._.

Well it's one or another lol it's probably soft. Hard is pretty noticeable. We have really nice water here. I think living on an island helps lots of water lol
