Ok so long story short I got the mirena put in back in Nov 2013. I went to the hospital a few days ago and was told that I have a cyst on my right ovary that is over 5cm big. Has anyone went through this? What did they do for you? Also does anyone know how to compare the size of the cyst to a fruit?

Nope. She's the next Doctor's Companion :D

A cyst on the ovary can be nothing. It's common for them to go away on their own. They'll continue to monitor it and if it starts to hurt or you have any other symptoms of anything else, be sure to let your Doctor know so they can appropriately diagnose it.

Yow. That's tricky, because it could be something else. Or, it could be a run of the mill cyst that will correct itself. I can't really tell you for sure, I'm sorry :(

Make sure to monitor it the best you can until you can start seeing your Doctor regularly. Keep track of your pain and discharge, if you gain excess weight, have a lot of acne breakouts. Things like that.

have had several cysts on my ovaries. they usually will resolve themselves and dissolve on their own. its nothing to be alarmed about unless it continues to grow. i have had a cyst rupture before too. its very normal for women to have them and not even realize it. you should be just fine.

See that's the thing my discharge has changed. They know for sure it's not an STD. I am pretty mad at the hospital and the clinic of where I got the mirena because the hospital said that I need surgery on it so I went to the clinic and they basically told me I am SOL with them because they don't do that there. That if or when this thing does rupture I am in for a whole lot more pain.

I mean you can see the cyst through my skin. I haven't had sex or done anything that could possibly make it rupture but from what I have read that cyst this size do need to be removed because they can cause ovarian cancer or it can twist the Fallopian tube

Do you think the hair on my body darkening would be something to worry about?
