Paragard TMI Katie[ღ]Siℓas 17 kids; Grand Haven, Michigan 2071 posts

I got the paragard at 6 and a half weeks PP, well it was hanging out of my cervix [SO could feel it during sex.] so I went in and had it taken out and got a new one put in. I bled alot because it traumatized my cervix. Now, I'm still bleeding, and there's lots of mucous [I know the mucous is normal.] but I didn't think I'd still be bleeding a month later, plus my cervix feels really swollen and it's lower down than it usually is. Lots of cramping as well, not too painful but it comes and goes. Does this all sound normal to you if you've had it fall out and got a new one put in? Could it be that I'm just starting my period? The bleeding stopped for about a week, then started up again a couple days ago but I'm not sure it's a period because it's really light and I heard that periods after having a baby are heavy, and periods after getting the paragard are really heavy too.

What do you think? TIA.

Sounds normal to me. I spotted for quite awhile after having it placed when my first fell out. My cervix felt the same way, give your body a little bit of time to relax. I put off sex for a couple of days and felt better. Also, the first couple of periods will be heavy and crampy.
