Quoting Jennybananna:" I didnt think they could put an IUD in right after delivery. Things gotta heal and your cervix needs to close back up. Otherwise wouldn't it just basically fall out."

I remember after having my daughter my doctor said I couldn't get an IUD until my 4 week PP check up, as long as everything looked okay.

Everything I have ever read says it cant be done until your PP check up. I have never heard of a doctor doing it after delivery. Ouch. Even if it was an option I wouldnt do it.

Quoting Sam H.:" I plann to get paraguard the day of delivery if everything goes well, says my dr. is that what you did? ... [snip!] ... what you did? if so, are you bfing? just curious, since I want to know if I will be bleeding foreverrr if I get it that day."

I BF for the first month and got mine at 6 weeks. I don't recommend it. I have cramped and bled ever since. I even had to run up to the ER because I felt like the thing had migrated! The paragard is actually what made my period start, though. I've gone through so many tampons in the past 2 months, it's unreal.

lol I'm hoping for my period to stay far away like your's has.
but for the past two and a half days, the only bleeding I've had was from my stitches.
I'm really hoping it stays that way, but I'm suuuure it'll come back. *sigh*
