I originally planned to cook this in my crock pot but my dumbass self forgot to defrost it in time. Also..Forgot about it again til like noon and it was frozen at the time  Anyway..I defrosted it in cold water..So my question is how do I cook it in the oven?? And for how long? I've got dry onion soup mix..cream of mushroom soup..I would like to make it sort of like a roast consistency and have it really flavorful so I can just toss it on some white rice :D Yum :)

I planned on putting it in the crock with both the onion mix/mushroom soup cause that always comes out tasty over rice :)

I would *think* you could just do the same thing you do in the crock-pot in the oven? I'm not much of a cook

That's what I'm thinking. I just don't know how long it needs to cook for lol. Or what temp. I never cook roast or steak in anything but the crockpot or grill...so I'm at a loss :(

Steak is all SO's job, I don't mess with it  I honestly have no idea? I'd guess maybe 350 for an hour or two?

ETA well... after a short google search, it says to put it at a lower heat (250 is what the website said) And cook it for longer, covered in foil. Said it basically makes it like a slow cooker? lol

I make this on the stove top all the time. I lightly flour the steak with flour, garlic salt, onion powder, and season salt. Fry it to make a crust, then add mushroom soup, onion soup, and a little water bring it to a boil, cover and simmer it on low for an hour or until the steak is very tender. I do this when I forget to start it in the crock pot.

I just seared it with some salt and pepper and tossed it into the oven in a pan. Layer aluminum foil in it and added cream of mushroom & a packet of onion soup mix to it and closed the foil up around it. Hopefully it comes out tender. I've got it set at 275 for 2 hours..
