To find out the sex, or to not find out?! TM CPST Due July 25 (boy); 2 kids; Hi, TX, United States 10959 posts

This is the dilemma going on in my house lately! So, I have a boy and a girl, have ALL of their clothes/shoes/blankets, pretty much everything but the car seat. I want it to be a surprise at birth, DH, not so much! He wants to know.... We have till next Thurs morning to figure this out since thats when my scan is. How the hell do we 'figure it out?' I don't think he'll give in and I certainly don't want too either. I've always wanted a surprise baby and this is more than likely our last.

Also, NO he can NOT find out and be expected to not tell anyone, he doesn't do well with 'secrets' and if I found out through the grapevine I'd be super pissed! Some people at his work got him and his friend mixed up(friends wife is due 3w before me) and he slipped, telling them I was pregnant when not even our close, close friends and family knew! I just kinda laughed but if I don't know, I don't want anyone to know, kwim?

Sorry for the novel! Suggestions?

Well, considering everything you've told, it's seemingly out of the question for your husband to be given the information written on paper inside of an envelope as he is unable to keep a secret, and thus the only logical compromise would be to play rock, paper, scissors or flip a coin to see who gets to make the decision..

Ehhh... I would probably tell my husband too bad, he can wait until the baby's born. :)

Thats what I say lol we found out with the first two, we have everything we need except the car seat, so why find out? We don't ever have surprises in life! Not this, happy surprise anyway! I always tell him 'you can't find out without me' and he gets mad. Oh men...

I have lots of people on some FB mom groups tell me this, makes it more exciting! So when you went into labor, did you have a bag for a girl and a boy? did you buy new coming home outfits or use your children's clothes(if you kept them)

i bought 1 girl and 1 boy coming home outfit, and planned on not washing them until jason went home at night with the kids, he would wash whichever we needed and bring it to the hospital in the morning before we went home.
But at 37 the dumb MW told me i was having a boy at my fluid check US so i washed the boy outfit, but we still got our surprise she was a girl so he had to wash and bring the girl outfit :)

Our first was a surprise partly by my choosing. So with this one we found out since Hubby wanted to.

I think it's your turn to get what you want and he'll just have to suck it up.

We just bought everything gender neutral but you can bring one of each outfit with you and have a big shopping spree after baby comes or a "meet baby" party if others want to buy you stuff (though it sounds like you have what you need).

I think leave it a suprise. I found out with dd and this time I'm not. It's the only true suprise you still get in life

I had one of each, too, and really wanted to try and keep this one a surprise, but once it came time for my anatomy scan, I caved, lol.
