Quoting ღFrodoliciousღ:" She sounds like a normal 2 year old acting out... have you tried time outs or confiscating toys when ... [snip!] ... 2 year old behavior from what I can tell. She's testing her limits and you're showing her just how far that line will go. "

I about ready to get rid of the totes & just let her have a few things. I've tried time outs but she won't stay. I was going to talk to her doctor about it but they keep cancelling her 2 year check up. It's just so weird that she acts totally fine when her Dad is here but within minutes of him leaving she starts back up.

:!: this

My kids act worse when Daddy is around cause he caves more than I do. He has just recently been trying to change that and they are getting better, but they are older as well.

Best way to get her to clean up her toys tell her to do it and everyone she doesn't do pick them up and throw them in a trash bag and "throw it away" or just put them somewhere.

If she acts up in the store don't take her, I know you have stuff to do but If your on Bedrest are you suppose to be at the store?

And I feel bad for those dogs because if they were to bite her, the dogs would be punished.

Do you discipline her?

She probably knows he won't let her get away with it.

I guess I didn't put it in there but I've been off bed rest since January. I feel bad for the dogs too. I can tell they try their hardest to get away from her but it's a small house so there isn't many places for them to go. I had put gates up for her to stay in certain rooms but she can climb over them pretty fast now.

The weird thing is he's the push over & I'm the one that tries to set rules.

I try time outs but she won't stay where I put her. I usually have to sit down with her & I'm not too sure how effective that is.

You sitting there doesn't help. Put her in the spot set the timer. 1 minute per year. At 18 months I did 1 min 30 secs. Because they are a half year older. If she gets up you put er back reset the timer. Don't talk just put her in there and walk away. She gets out do it again.

I feel like if I did that I'd be doing it forever! lol But I'll try it.

You might be doing it forever. It may take 2 hours to do a time out but she will learn you mean business. You are the mom she is the child, you control the situation not her. Ya know.

It takes repetition. You will do it over and over again, but eventually she will start staying in time out better.

I'll try it. Sometimes it's hard getting her to stick with something because since we're staying with my parents they want to do stuff their way & they let her get away with things that I don't allow her to do. Hopefully soon we'll be back in our own place. I wonder if all of the changes are confusing her too.
