Hey everyone I had lyme in pregnancy which was not diagnosed until I was 30 weeks pregnant so I received ten weeks of amoxicillin but the lyme had 5 months to run riot in my body before this as I was bitten unknowingly when I was 10 weeks pregnant.

From what I gather its likely I passed it to him? He is so far healthy an i tested my placenta for lyme and it came back negative but apparently testing is flawed

I feel like I'm not wnjoying him and I don't really know what to do?

Anyone have any experiences of this

Hello,

I read this post and your previous one - so sorry you are going through this! First of all, I know it's easier said than done but please don't worry. There is so much inaccurate (and scary!) information on the internet, especially about Lyme disease.

I am a physician and wanted to let you know that it's unlikely you had Lyme disease if you tested negative. The blood test looks for antibodies against the bacteria, so in the EARLY stages of disease it may be negative because it is the "window period" before your body has made enough antibodies. But in the LATER stages - about a month or so after infection - the accuracy is quite good.

Many internet sites and blogs claim that the test is "inaccurate 60% of the time". People who say this are misinformed and don't understand the details of testing. It's kind of sad how often this rumor is circulated.

Sounds like you have a doctor you trust, so keep up your visits with him/her. One final word of caution - avoid Lyme "specialty" labs and "Lyme literate" doctors - they are not trustworthy and will charge you a LOT of $$$!

Take care, and good luck.
